Summary | A reduced order modeling scheme previously developed for DC resistivity modeling has been adapted here to include the physics of induced polarization. This presentation reviews the fundamentals of the scheme - the hierarchical finite element method - and provides details on how the new physics was incorporated. Examples calculations are drawn from applications in mining geophysics where thin, polarizable features such as alteration halos and fluid pathways are well-suited to the method and computationally expensive otherwise. |
